Getting Ready & Goodbyes

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

~ Ephesians 3:20-21

With less than three weeks to go before our move, packing and goodbyes have begun to take up much of our time. Lord-willing, we will be moving the Tuesday before Thanksgiving into the same mission house in NC where we stayed when we first came back from Togo. The plan is to live there until we have raised all of our monthly support. We are so thankful for God’s provision for this housing need.

One step toward moving was selling our chickens and their coop setup last weekend, on October 31st. We joked that it was Re-FARM-ation Day. While we’re thankful to have found a good home for them, our children struggled a bit with this first of what will be many goodbyes this month.

Despite only officially being full time in our JAARS preparation phase for nine weeks, the Lord has already generously provided over 22% of our monthly support! We have marveled to each other, “How, with inflation and the economy trending the way it is, are we seeing increased giving and multiple new partners?” Through the world’s eyes, it makes no sense. We are so thankful and humbled by the ways He has gone before us and worked in the hearts of individuals, in spite of our fumbles and inadequacies.

Our children (yes, you’ll notice even our littlest helped when we weren’t looking!) love taking turns coloring in the marbles in our JAARS jars whenever another partner comes alongside our family. It has been a fun visual for them to witness God’s provision in action and an opportunity to learn to thank Him for every gift.

How you can pray for our family right now:

  • Health and energy – we have had several bugs over the last couple months and are recovering from one right now. Due to this, it’s been difficult to schedule meetings and goodbye get-togethers
  • Moving logistics and travel safety
  • God’s continued provision of monthly partners

Thank you all for your prayers. Please let us know how we can be praying for you as well!
